“Sustainable Development Program”

Community Service and Training Unit of the Center of Excellence in Environmental Studies (CEES) in cooperation with Home Economic College and Economic and Management College in Girls campus held an awareness program titled “Sustainable Development Program” on Sunday 13/01/1434 AH – 27/11/2012 at King Fahd Medical Research Center from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The program included three lectures and workshop focused on the Sustainable Development concept. The program started with an introductory about the center delivered by Prof. Ibrahim Hassan, followed by a word from the head if the Community Service and Training unit, Dr. Inas Soroor, included a definition of the unit and its activities. Afterward, a lecture titled “Activate the role of exterior and interior design to achieve environmental excellence“ delivered by Prof. Maha Al-Halabi, then Dr. Samah Hamdan has delivered a lecture titled “Alternative natural safe solutions of pesticides, cleaning supplies, and air fresheners“. After the break, a lecture titled “Employ the plants to continue preserve and beautify the environment“delivered by Dr. Salwa Samir, the event was concluded with a workshop aiming to recruit plants to continue maintaining and beautifying the environment. This event is a part of one of the Community and Training Unit objectives toward environmental awareness to the community members by strengthen the cooperation ponds with the interested parties.
