Participant's guardian directions

  1. Supervise and support the participant's work.
  2. Help the participant to understand the manual, abide by its terms and fill in the form.

Contest Conditions

For the participant:
  1. Participant's age should be between 5 and 15 years old.
  2. The participant should be a citizen or a resident in Saudi Arabia.
  3. Fill in the registration form with full data (click here to download it).
  4. The participant is not allowed to submit more than one work for each theme.
About the Content:
  1. Adherence to the Islamic law and customs in the submitted work.
  2. The video clip must reflect the child’s creativity of photography and design and must not be redeployed from someone else.
  3. The video content might includes displaying, analyzing or treating one of environmental issues within competition themes (Water & Environment – Air & Environment - Waste & Environment - Plants & Environment - Animals & Environment).
  4. The video is not to exceed a runtime of a minute and a half (1:30 min).
  5. The video clip has to be made in one of the following formats: WMV, AVI, FLV
  6. The video MUST contain the name and logo of CEES center added at the beginning (click here to download the logo).
  7. The clip that shows people's images is no not accepted without the guardian’s written permission in the allocated box in the registration form.
  8. Participant guardian's approval is needed for the registration and for the video contents, as well as the agreement to display the clip on CEES website. The data presented in registration form should be validated by the participant's guardian.

How to submit your work?

  1. The registration form & the video clip are both submitted to this e-mail (cstu.cees@hotmail.com) so that the participant's name appears in the subject box.
  2. To find out how to produce and upload the video (click here).
  3. It is not allowed resend your work after submitting it electronically, and will not accept any amendments after they are received.
  4. An email will be sent to the participant confirming the receipt of his/her participation after 2 working days.

Contest Jury

The jury includes:
  1. A specialist in Child growth studies.
  2. An environmental specialist.
  3. The head of Community Service Unit.

Note: The clips will be loaded on the CEES website for electronic voting.

Judging Criteria:

The best three of each age group will be selected based on the following Criteria:

  1. The video content must be related to one of the competition themes for the purpose of display, analyze or treating one of the environmental issues.
  2. The quality of the final product. .
  3. The creativity of the video’s idea and production.

Note:The work is expected to reflect the cognitive age of the participant.

Additional instructions:
  1. Video content can be (animation or compiled fixed images).
  2. The participant's name and age can be included at the end of video clip.
  3. Participation is accepted in both Arabic and English.
  4. You can add a title at the beginning of the video clip.
Suggested ideas for the contest:
  1. Analyzing an environmental problem with its various dimensions related to one of the contest themes.
  2. Expressing the importance of one of the global environmental days (Earth Day, Earth Hour, World Environment Day ...).
  3. Presenting the participant's reaction to a global environmental event.
  4. Solutions to an environment problem.
  5. Life situations of the participant reflecting his/her interest in the environment and its preservation.
  6. Developing a picture story serving the environment.
  7. Scientific miracles in the Qur'an relevant to the environment.
  8. The participant is free to choose the presentation style of the video clip (entertainment, educational, Fiction, media... etc) what is important is the distinctive creativity of he presented idea.

Fill in the registration form (click here to download it) then send it with your video clip to the e-mail: cstu.cees@hotmail.com, all in one single message including the participant name in the title (subject box).
