The center held a workshop entitled (water is a real wealth) at faculty of science’s plaza, KAU. The workshop showed impact of water pollution on shores of Jeddah, Yanbu, and Farasan Island and it was documented with photos showing such impact. Experiments on effects of water contaminated with oil on water plants and endangered aquaculture and effects of pollution on mice were carried out to illustrate the extent of danger of pollution. Moreover, samples of water from one of Jeddah’s resorts were tested and compared with the permissible guideline in swimming pools.

A model of water purification filter using different types of bacteria was set up together with ozonated holder for water purification in a simulation illustration, another model on purification of ground water and its reuse in irrigation of gardens was also shown. Rationalizing use of water was also highlighted by using flush basins as acquarrium.

It also contains identification of negative effects of solid waste on water and identifying the proper method of disposing for them. Also is displayed the rationalized using of water making the flush water basins for fish also.
