King Abdulaziz University logo
In the year 1386 AH (corresponding to 1966 AD), a competition was announced for the university’s logo. Many artists from inside and outside the Kingdom submitted a large number of drawings، then decided to choose three models.
The final recommendation was made after making amendments to the logo submitted by the plastic artist Abdel Halim Radwa as a logo for King Abdulaziz University.
The university logo consists of several parts that reflect the university’s identity and academic heritage. The logo consists of several symbolic elements, including:


Sailing ship
It symbolizes Jeddah's maritime history, as it was an important commercial port, and it also indicates ambition and the pursuit of progress.

open book
The holy verse "Read in the name of your Lord" is written on it, and it symbolizes the Holy Quran.

The Lighthouse
It is crowned by a fountain pen nib, embodying the concept of science as a beacon of knowledge and a source of inspiration and progress.

University name
Written in both Arabic, reflecting its local character.

The previous elements aim to represent the university’s objectives:
- dedication: In pushing the wheel of education and knowledge to its highest levels.
- Responsibility: Defining and understanding the needs of the Kingdom in a world where cultures and educational values are mixed.
- National: Building and developing a civilized and modern society that preserves its customs and traditions.
- Ambition: In graduating future builders of leaders, thinkers and geniuses
- Quality: Applying the highest quality standards in everything the university does, providing facilities and services, and using the latest methods.
The logo was recently modified and the color of the logo was changed from blue to green to reflect the face of elegance, strength and knowledge and to depict the color of the national flag of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
