This study aimed to investigate the impact of leadership capacity development on achieving organizational excellence at King Abdulaziz University, knowing the reality of organizational excellence and investigating the reality of leadership capacity development at the university from the point of view of the study sample (the employees). In addition, it provided scientific recommendations, which helps to understand the effectiveness of leadership capacity development programs and how they affect in achieving the organizational excellence. To achieve the objectives of this study, the descriptive analytical method was used by the researcher in collecting data through questionnaires. (230) random samples of total (537) have been taken from the study population from the academic and administrative leaders at King Abdulaziz University. The data were treated statistically using the statistical package for social sciences program. This study reached many results, the most important of which is that there is interest and knowledge of the dimensions of organizational excellence within the university. There is an application and interest in developing leadership human capabilities to a very high degree, while the development of intellectual capabilities leadership to a high degree. This indicates that the university’s interest in developing leadership capabilities in a way that achieves its goals, and there is agreement from the majority of the study sample to know the ways to solve the problems which are facing the administration depending on the various experiences and skills and take advantage of them in the decision-making process. In light of these results, this study suggested some recommendations, including ensuring the participation of individuals with expertise and taking advantage of them through workshops and brainstorming methods, which helps in developing the intellectual leadership capabilities of leaders. In addition, there is a need to provide employees with the scientific methods used at work, and to conduct workshops to develop their organizational capabilities, and it is necessary to enhance the benefit of proactive studies in the field of business, analyze strengths and weaknesses, and identify opportunities, challenges and risks facing management, by knowing the appropriate analytical tools. |
