Abstract : Aggressive behavior has been increasing among adolescents, and especially males. This is due to many different reasons and especially due to progressive changes in societies. Scientists have studied the relationship between the mental and psychological states and general health and well-being in humans and in animal models. Aggressive behavior is one such mental state, that has been recently investigated to attempt to elucidate its relationship to, or effect on, the health states of different population groups in different countries. In Saudi Arabia, male adolescents are the major population group and this age category displays to many changes and behavioral disorders which are mostly aggressive. Thus, this study aimed to find the correlation of such behavior with general health in 60 healthy male adolescents with ages 14-19 years. This study was accomplished using questionnaires for the subject, parents, and school's social worker to estimate the aggressive behaviors. Different biochemical parameters in the blood were measured (cholesterol, HDL, LDL, TGs, Apo A-I, Apo B, Apo A-I/Apo B ratio, hemoglobin, lymphocytes, leucocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, platelets, testosterone, serotonin, cortisol, and nicotine). Also fetal nicotine exposure was estimated from parent's questionnaire. Anthropometric measurements (height, weight) of each subject were taken to asses overweight and obesity by BMI. Finally, age, BMI, fetal exposure to nicotine, and the other measured biochemical parameters were statistically compared with the estimated aggression scores by SPSS program. The final results of this research, show some significances between aggression and age and the different biochemical parameters (cholesterol, HDL, cortisol, eosinophils) but there was no significant differences for the other parameters (BMI, LDL, TGs, Apo A-I, Apo B, Apo A-I/Apo B ratio, hemoglobin, lymphocytes, leucocytes, monocytes, platelets, testosterone, serotonin, nicotine, and fetal exposure to nicotine). It is suggested to carry further studies to help determine whether aggressive behavior among adolescent males is related to a compromised health state, and if so to watch the health state of such adolescents more carefully to evaluate the ill effects or to reduce or to eliminate the aggressive behaviors.
